The dry season from January to March is the known as the most popular time to visit Yala and especially Block 1 is a must visit during this time season because of how famous that area is for spotting leopards. The weather in this area is very pleasant and photography can be easily done because the visibility is also excellent. Blocks 2 and 3 are also areas that can be accessed during these three months however, it is important to remmeber that out of all the blocks, block 1 is the best area to go if you want to see a leopard. The months of February and March are very much hotter than others but during these days its best to visit as because of the hot weather animals oftn come out f their resting place to drink water from wetlands of block 01.

April usually starts with dry weather but ends with inter monsoon rains.Even during this month block 1 is still good for sightings but blocks 2 and 3 become very less accessible because the tracks have got very muddy and humidity has increased. The months from May to July starts the southwest monsoon, when even Block 2 is closed because the heavy rains make the roads very difficult to travel in and wildlife is mostly scatter so safaris during this time is very limited and is not recommended at all.

From August onwards, conditions improve as the rains subside. Block 1 and Block 3 slowly reopen, while Block 2 has limited access. This is also when migratory birds begin to return, giving birdwatchers an added reason to visit. September is considered one of the best months, as water sources shrink, forcing animals to gather around lakes and waterholes. This makes sightings in Blocks 1, 2, and 3 far more predictable and rewarding.

October and November bring another round of rains, this time from the northeast monsoon. Access becomes tricky again, and wildlife disperses due to plentiful water. Blocks may be restricted, so safaris can feel hit-or-miss during these months.

Finally, December marks the start of the dry season once again. Blocks 1, 2, and 3 are all accessible, with fewer crowds compared to January. This is a fantastic time for travelers who want excellent wildlife sightings without the peak-season rush.
