Who Is Eligible for a Dubai Tourist Visa from Sri Lanka?

There are no strict eligibility criteria for a Dubai tourist visa. Travellers under 18 must travel with at least one parent. A Sri Lankan passport must hold a minimum 6 months' validity. Because Sri Lanka is not on the UAE visa-on-arrival list, Sri Lankans must apply for a pre-arranged (prepaid) Dubai visa.

Dubai-based tourism companies are permitted to issue Dubai visas for Sri Lankans, provided the applicant meets the criteria set by the authorities. Arabiers asks Sri Lankan applicants to satisfy the following:

1

Financially capable of completing the trip, or has a direct family member, relative or friend living in the UAE with stable employment.

2

Travelling for a holiday with no family in the UAE — we ask for proof that you are a genuine traveller.

3

A tourist visa is not provided where the intention is to seek employment in the UAE.

4

You agree to return on time or extend your stay legally, and never overstay your visa.

If all eligibility criteria have been met, the visa process is very simple. It will take only 24 hours or less to issue your visa along with travel insurance covering COVID.

Business visa

Part of the UAE's long-term visa framework, allowing foreign nationals with entrepreneurial expertise to apply for a longer-term visa for themselves and dependents.

Remote work visas

A one-year permit allowing you to live in the UAE while working for a company based outside it. General requirements: a passport valid for at least 6 months and valid UAE-cover health insurance.

If you own a company:

  • Proof of company ownership (minimum one year)
  • Company bank statements for the previous three months
  • Average monthly income of USD 5,000

If employed by an overseas company:

  • Employment contract valid at least one year

  • Three months' bank statements
  • Minimum monthly salary of USD 5,000

Transit visa

Issued only by UAE-based airlines and arranged before entry. Two types: a 48-hour transit visa (free of charge) and a 96-hour transit visa (AED 50). Only the UAE-based airline you fly with can arrange this.

Student, retirement, GCC eVisa & Golden Visa

Long-term options for residents and qualifying individuals. The Dubai Golden Visa grants a 5–10 year stay with benefits including family sponsorship and no requirement to remain in Dubai to keep the visa active.

Dubai Visa from Sri Lanka — FAQ

Yes. Sri Lankan passport holders are not eligible for visa on arrival in the UAE and must obtain a pre-arranged (prepaid) Dubai tourist visa before travel. You can apply online through a UAE-licensed agent such as Arabiers, typically receiving approval in 24–48 hours.
A 30-day single-entry Dubai visa starts at LKR 39,000 (around AED 489). A 60-day single-entry visa is LKR 55,000, multi-entry options range up to LKR 91,000, and express service starts at LKR 59,000. Fees paid to UAE immigration are non-refundable once lodged.
Submit your name, contact details, passport scan and photo through the application form on this page or via WhatsApp. Arabiers verifies your documents, lodges the application with UAE immigration, and sends your approved e-visa by email.
The most common reasons are unclear passport scans, name-spelling mismatches, and insufficient passport validity. Confirm your name spelling matches your passport exactly, ensure at least 6 months' validity, and provide a clear white-background photo. Our team reviews every file before submission to reduce rejection risk.
Processing pauses on UAE public holidays, which may extend the 24-hour window. Your Arabiers consultant will confirm any holiday delays at the time of application.
Standard processing is 24–48 hours once all documents are submitted correctly. Express processing returns an approved visa in 4–8 hours, often the same day. Public holidays in the UAE or IT outages can occasionally extend these timelines.
You need a colour scan of your passport bio page with at least 6 months' validity, a recent photograph on a plain white background, and a birth certificate for any children travelling with you. All can be sent as soft copies by email or WhatsApp.
If you fly with Emirates, the airline's multi-risk travel cover is included in your ticket, so separate insurance is not required. On other airlines we arrange COVID-inclusive travel insurance alongside your visa.
Overstaying a Dubai tourist visa incurs a fine of AED 50 per day. On exit you also pay an AED 250–350 exit pass and immigration service fee. We recommend extending your stay legally before the visa expires.
